Black Forest Cake
If you're visiting Fredericksburg, a meal at Otto's German Bistro is an absolute must. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a warm, intimate atmosphere that perfectly blends Hill Country charm with German heritage. The attention to detail is evident in everything—from the beautifully crafted cocktails to the thoughtfully prepared dishes. The food is outstanding. Every plate feels elevated yet approachable, showcasing traditional German flavors with a fresh, modern Texas twist. The duck schnitzel is unforgettable, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, while the flammkuchen and house-made sides are equally impressive. The ingredients taste incredibly fresh, and the presentation is as impressive as the taste. The Black Forest cake was the perfect end to our night. What truly sets Otto's apart is the overall experience. The service is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly without ever feeling rushed. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a weekend getaway, Otto's delivers a dining experience that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. Fredericksburg has no shortage of great restaurants, but Otto's stands in a class of its own. It's the kind of place you'll be talking about long after your trip is over—and already planning your next visit. Five stars without hesitation.
Duck Schnitzel
My wife and I head to Otto's from Boerne twice a year and stay overnight... just for the duck scnitzel (and amazing cocktails btw). Call it a pilgrimage. A must have; there is no try...
Wurst Platte
The wurst platte had a good balance of tanginess, freshness, and substance. The sauerkraut was not overly sour, so it blended nicely with the haus mustard without being overpowering. The senfgurken was extremely fresh, balancing the heartiness of the wurst. The wurst itself was soft enough to slice through with a fork without being mushy. The flavor was lighter than a normal wurst, so all of these flavors in tandem really balanced eachother. Each element brought unique texture with the crunchy senfgurken, soft sauerkraut, and savory tenderness of the wurst.
Chicken Paprikash
This dish was so delicious! Cant wait to come back. Paired it with the Hungarian white wine!

You actually got a seat at the bar, fantastic cocktails, but you didn't get the sauerkraut balls? Mistakes happen, but man... you missed out.

The Duck Schnitzel was one of the Best Meals of my entire life! I think about it all the time since trying it. It's delicious and will certainly keep me coming back for more!

The Duck was excellent! The cherries and rotkhol paired surprisingly well with the meat. Very good portion sizes.
Pretzel Und Bierkäse
The food was phenomenal and the best part of the night were the two hosts- Wilson and Laura. They were very accommodating and made the experience something to truly remember. I will return every time I am in town just to say hello to those two!
Brot Und Butter
This is the best bread and butter I've ever had. I last had this dish over a year ago, and I can still taste it when I think about it.
